Wednesday 10th February, location Daresbury, due to threats of sabotage an unannounced test run by Paul Caldwell’s 5ins Black Five. Fresh from complete overhaul and repaint plus a new airworthy certificate carried out by Airbus Internationale’s loco works Widnes. Great secrecy surrounded the test run due to intercepted text messages suggesting foul play in the form of contaminated coal were discovered – gasp! Who would be such a bounder as to do such a dastardly act? Anyone with information are urged to call Whitehall 1212 immediately to deter any such further acts.
Thankfully the bounder had been thwarted and a very first flight went without incident. As a matter of fact, according to social Media reports, it ran faultlessly. Paul bathing in admiration from the assembled specially invited guests took the applause in his stride, surely a sign of a great warrior.
Due to the cold weather, and Bob ringing the bell for tea, the Black Five was disposed of and ended it first run a total success. The only downfall to the day was due to a lot of our members in their twilight years, the cold wind and drinking far too much tea, there were considerable queues for the chemical toilet.
I Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have dreaming it all up.
